Christy believes the potential of girls is endless—the more opportunity young women are given, the more they can achieve, feel confident and better about themselves. It’s why she founded willa, a natural skincare and beauty brand, with her daughter, Willa. Together, they’ve grown a cult-like following among the Instagram set, and through social selling want to share the rewards of building your own business with the very girls who fell in love with their products. A voracious reader who loves a good book, Christy knows every girl has the capacity to be the author of her own success. Her own story led her from Georgetown University as an English literature major to Hollywood where she honed her creative passion as a film executive and producer (she’s worked alongside actors such as Jennifer Lopez and brought movies like “Black Swan” to the big screen). With willa, Christy hopes to empower every willagirl to write her own life’s story—one full of confidence and heart.
Willa Doss is her own #girlboss. Born in Santa Monica, California, this self-described ‘happy girl’ loves sushi, sunshine and her little mop-face dog, Sunny. Plus, she’s the founder of a natural skincare and beauty brand that’s named after her (spelled with a little “w”, in case you’re confused). Willa wants the world to know: you can own your own business—even before you can drive or vote. With willa, she’s helped develop every product in the collection, from cleanser to lip gloss. She’s also traveled the country talking to girls about protecting their skin and jumpstarting their futures, simply by selling willa to friends or sharing their favorite products on social media. When she’s not painting with watercolors (she’s a leftie) or writing pals back on Instagram (a challenge because… see previous), Willa is trying to live up to her name which actually means “protector”. Did we mention her favorite willa product is the sunscreen?
Annette joined willa after an extensive leadership career in the beauty biz. Her forte is building new beauty product categories and markets for the likes of L'Oreal, Bristol Myers International, Bath & Body Works, and gapbody. Annette also has a successful track record with her own business, co-founding Epic Beauty, a private label cosmetic and fragrance manufacturing company that created color cosmetics and fragrances for Anthropologie. She is thrilled to extend willa's business in the better-for-you market which she believes is the wave of the future.
Originally from Hollywood, CA, Annette earned her BA from Stanford University and MBA from the Anderson School of Business at UCLA. She lives in NYC with her husband and has two grown daughters and cat, Snowy.
Bailey is the "beauty and brains" behind the scenes at willa. As VP of Finance & Operations, she oversees many different aspects (finance, technology, operations, HR—to name a few) so the business runs smoothly. Her attention to detail and knack with numbers led her to a career starting in finance as an M&A Analyst at Lehman Brothers and Associate of Irving Place Capital. After earning her MBA from Harvard Business School, she held product and operations roles at tech start-up Urban Compass. While she wishes the College Savings Match were around as she worked her way to success, she joined willa to help entrepreneurial young women gain confidence in their professional futures. Originally from a small town in Virginia, she lives in NYC with her husband Kevin (a fellow Virginian).
